Evan turns 4!

We had a joint celebration this year for Evan and Nathan's birthdays.  Both boys love swim parties at JCC so we picked a day half way between their birthdays for the party.  Evan helped me with the baking and did a great job at measuring the ingredients and mixing (I can tell he's had a lot of practice at school).

Evan's class (Clementine) also celebrated by making 2 favorites of Evan for his "birthday brunch": strawberry smoothie and waffles.

It was also Clementine tradition for the birthday child to make a birthday patch/square as a take home exercise then share with rest of class.  Evan drew a very nice train using the fabric pens teachers provided.

Choosing a birthday present was pretty easy.  I bit the bullet and got him the Thomas turn table (originally Nathan's idea). Now Evan's wooden railway collection can no longer all fit in one big storage box.

On the morning of his birthday, James joking said "Hey Evan, this is your last chance for 3 minute timeouts.  After today it's going to be 4 minutes instead."  Evan took it quite seriously and replied, "Let me go for a timeout right now!"  (We had a good laugh but I should be concerned that boys think timeouts are part of everyday routine now)

Evan didn't share with us his birthday wish, but one thing he's been asking for a lot is to go to summer camp with Nathan and Sophia.  Little guy is feeling a bit left out and can't wait to turn 5 so he can go to camp.

We did the exact same thing as last year for Evan's birthday dinner: ride the Caltrain to Palo Alto, have dinner, and then ride the Caltrain back to Sunnyvale.  This year Ada came with us too, so it was 3 boys and 1 girl on the train:

Lastly, stats from Evan's routine check up at Dr.Brown's confirmed that he's getting taller faster than he can put on weight:
Height: 42.25" (90%)
Weight: 38 lbs (70%)
